“I had such an amazing experience getting my Hydrafacial! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was calm, clean, and so welcoming. My esthetician was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain each step of the process, which made me feel completely comfortable and cared for. The treatment itself was so relaxing, and my skin immediately looked brighter, smoother, and more refreshed. I left feeling confident, glowing, and truly pampered. You can tell they genuinely care about skin health and results. I highly recommend booking a Hydrafacial here if you’re looking to treat yourself and give your skin a boost. I’ll definitely be back!”
Microneedling in Prosper: Clearer Skin Starts Here
What Microneedling Does for Skin
Microneedling stimulates natural regeneration in the skin with needles making tiny punctures in the top layer of your skin. These punctures are just like little wounds. Your body's response to these wounds, your skin naturally begins to produce more collagen and elastin for its repair. There is nothing else added to your skin in this procedure.
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, collagen production naturally slows down as we age. What microneedling does for you is stimulate that production to continue. This leads to plumper skin, more firm, smoother, and even skin tone. For a deeper look at how this process works, the Cleveland Clinic offers a thorough overview of microneedling uses, benefits, and results that many of our clients find helpful before their first appointment.
Our team in Prosper sees this happen often. Clients have come in for a specific concern but notice a change in another area of their skin. Here are the areas that microneedling addresses:
- Small lines and creases that surround the mouth or eyes
- Rough or uneven skin texture
- Lackluster skin that appears to be lifeless
- Large pores particularly across the nose and cheeks
- Older acne scars that have not faded on their own
In addition, it is important to point out what you might not be aware of, that is the improvement will not happen overnight. You won't see results in the skin the day you have microneedling. Your skin is healing and will take a little while for you to see the improvements, and those will occur gradually. It's a positive sign as well because it means that what needs to happen is happening below your skin.
We hear from clients living in and near Windsong Ranch that they are so glad they didn't wait longer to begin microneedling. Between summer days out at the 5-acre Lagoon, paddleboarding, kayaking, and the long stretches of 100°F afternoons, this area gives skin a lot to recover from. Microneedling fits because there is no significant downtime and no guessing game. It is just your skin doing its job.
At our office off W Prosper Trail in Prosper, you will know the details of what to expect during your microneedling appointment. We never want you to leave with the feeling of being rushed or with questions remaining about what is happening to your skin.
Who Sees Great Results With Microneedling
Some people think that microneedling is only used to smooth out wrinkles or fine lines around the mouth or forehead. However, it has so much to offer beyond that. Clients who end up having the most amazing transformation often did not think they were a perfect candidate for microneedling.
We get a variety of clients in to address a variety of different skin concerns. Many of these issues respond well to microneedling, including:
- Small lines and creases that surround the mouth, eyes, or forehead. They are often not even covered with makeup.
- Acne scars that have persisted for years and may be uneven
- Dull, rough skin that doesn't bounce back like it once did
- Sun damage built up over years of outdoor weekends, whether that is the Lagoon and trails at Windsong Ranch, evenings at Frontier Park, or weekends watching games at Children's Health Stadium
- Enlarged pores that seem to appear more over time
Typically, microneedling is best suited to people who have tried every serum, product, or facial possible and still haven't seen results. Basically, their skin is fine, not amazing. That's the place where topical products can only get you so far because they can't penetrate deeply into the dermis. Microneedling does, though.
Age is less of a factor than you may think. We have worked with clients in their late 20s who want to start their anti-aging journey and those in their 50s who are looking to improve their skin texture. We've had clients in both age groups experience excellent results. Skin type is much more of a concern than age. This is why we offer an assessment before you even start.
Are you wondering if your skin concern fits? That is common. Some clients arrive thinking they need a HydraFacial, dermaplaning, or Diamond Microdermabrasion and after an assessment we recommend microneedling. We've also had it go the other way. Our esthetician won't push a service that isn't right for you.
The bottom line: if your skin feels stale and your topical products just aren't getting it where you want it to be, microneedling might be the solution that gets you there.
Preparation for Your First Microneedling Appointment
If you just booked your first microneedling appointment with us, you want to come to the appointment with skin that's healthy and relaxed. Your skin cannot be inflamed due to recent sunburn or a recent chemical peel, and you'll want to steer clear of your retinol at least 5 days out. This is because your retinol will make your skin more sensitive and we want your skin as calm as possible when the little needles roll.
Here is a quick list of things to prepare for in the weeks before your session
- Stop taking retinol, glycolic acid, or any other type of exfoliant 5-7 days before your appointment.
- Stay out of direct sun for at least 48 hours leading up to your appointment. If you are out in the sun enjoying your summer activities at Frontier Park or taking a walk around your home at Windsong Ranch, be sure to wear SPF daily until you come in.
- Take any vitamin E, fish oil, or other blood thinner away 3 days out.
- Come in with no makeup on your face. No sunblock, moisturizer, or anything else. We love your skin, but it's going to get a clean wash before we touch it.
- Make sure you stay hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment, including the day of.
Also, if you have had a HydraFacial, dermaplaning, or a Diamond Microdermabrasion any time soon, tell our team at your appointment time. We may want to separate things so your skin is healed. Our esthetician will look over your skin when you're here, and it just helps us out if you mention that you just had those done. One last thing...block out the rest of your day. You are going to be red after your microneedling treatment. Think of it like a mild sunburn. Most of our Prosper clients schedule their appointments in the late afternoon and head straight home to their beds and rest the rest of the day.

The Microneedling Treatment Procedure
You arrive to your appointment, you sit in the treatment suite and relax while our team performs the treatment for you. You don't need to think about anything, just relax.
Before your first microneedling session, every new client completes a Good Faith Exam. It is a short telehealth assessment required by the state of Texas, and it is $35 and good for a full year. That one exam clears you for every service we offer in-house, so you do not have to repeat it the next time you book. On the day of your appointment, we also check vital signs in the suite and walk you through the plan before anything begins.
Our treatment room is private and secluded and the typical microneedling treatments follow these steps:
- We clean the skin and put a topical numbing cream on first. Most of our clients sit there and play on their phones, or relax with their eyes closed.
- After numbing, our highly trained RN or Esthetician adjusts the treatment device needle depth depending on where on the skin she is treating. It goes from the forehead, to the cheeks, to the chin, to the nose; all of them need different depth treatments.
- Then we begin the treatment passes. As we move the device over the face, you will feel pressure and a vibration from the device but you will not feel pain.
- Once we have treated the whole face, we put some serum on the skin and your skin will absorb it because it is a deeper layer than what we normally reach for with the topicals.
- The final step is a moisturizer and sunscreen.
You're going to walk out with pink or red skin. Like we mentioned before, it's almost like a sunburn, and it usually dissipates within 1-2 days for most of our clients. We will also give you a set of instructions for home use after your treatment. You'll know what to use and what to avoid in the following 48 hours.
And since we are a physician-supervised wellness center, every one of our treatments is done via a specific protocol. We don't wing it. Our practice is led by Oge Ogundu, DNP, MSN, RN, with board-certified physician oversight, and treatments are delivered by a skilled RN or licensed esthetician. We do a skin assessment before we start, adjust the needle depth and speed based on what we see, and we watch your comfort levels throughout your session. There's a big difference between a thoughtful session and one that's thrown together.
Microneedling Pricing in Prosper
We keep our microneedling pricing straightforward, with no upsells and no VIP tiers. Two options, one hour each:
- Microneedling (Full Face) — $375 per session
- Microneedling with Growth Factors — $495 per session
The growth factor option layers a topical serum into the channels created during treatment, which many clients add when they are targeting deeper acne scarring or more advanced sun damage. Your esthetician will tell you which one fits your skin during your assessment. If a different service is a better fit, we'll say so.
First-time clients also complete the $35 Good Faith Exam, which is good for a full year across every service we offer in-house.
Aftercare That Protects Your Results
There are two parts to microneedling. The session at our Prosper practice is just one. The other part is what happens in your life 48 to 72 hours after your session.
We walk every client through what they should do for aftercare before they leave our location. This is not the paper sheet that gets lost in your car. It's a real conversation about what your skin needs at this moment in time and how to help it get there. We see the best results with clients who take aftercare seriously and the results are not nearly as successful when people are unhappy with their outcomes from skipping the steps over the first couple days.
What to Do After Your Session
- No touching your face for a minimum of six hours. Your skin has thousands of tiny channels open, and touching it introduces bacteria.
- Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours. Let your skin breathe. It will start the recovery process.
- Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer. We will have recommendations that won't irritate.
- Daily SPF 30 or higher. You will need this for a minimum of two weeks.
- Hydrate. Drink more water than you think you should.
Just as importantly, don't use the following:
- Retinol or Vitamin C for a minimum of 48 to 72 hours.
- Hot showers, saunas or steam rooms for two days.
- Intense workouts that make you sweat for 24 hours.
- Exfoliating products or scrubs for a minimum of one week.
It's normal to be slightly red and have mild tightening of the skin. It's like a mild sunburn that will fade rather quickly. Most clients report being slightly red for a day, then by day three or four seeing their skin start to look radiant and rejuvenated.
Ever wonder why people are talking so highly about microneedling and why others are not? The difference between these outcomes is usually aftercare. We are a physician-supervised clinic so what we tell you is based on real knowledge of how your skin needs to recover. If you have any questions at all about your product or something that doesn't feel right, please call us at (469) 762-9411. We would rather you take the time to ask than put on the wrong serum and lose your results.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about microneedling services in Prosper
How long does it take to see results from microneedling in Prosper?
Most Prosper clients start noticing changes in their skin around 4-6 weeks after their first session. Your skin is actively healing and rebuilding collagen beneath the surface, so results appear gradually. This is actually a good sign — it means your body is doing the work naturally. Full results from a series of sessions can take 3-6 months to show completely. Patience pays off here.
How should I prepare my skin before a microneedling appointment?
Stop using retinol, glycolic acid, and exfoliants 5-7 days before your appointment. Avoid direct sun for at least 48 hours before you come in — if you spend time outdoors at Frontier Park or around Windsong Ranch, wear SPF daily. Skip blood-thinning supplements like fish oil 3 days out. Come in with a completely clean face — no makeup, no moisturizer, nothing. Stay well hydrated the days leading up to your session.
Is microneedling a good option if I have acne scars that have never gone away?
Yes, microneedling works well for stubborn acne scars that have stuck around for years. The tiny punctures trigger collagen production deep in the dermis — deeper than any serum or topical product can reach. That new collagen slowly fills in and smooths out uneven scar tissue over time. Many Prosper clients are surprised by how much improvement they see in scars they had given up on.
Does microneedling work for sun damage from years of outdoor activity around Prosper?
It does. Years of sun exposure — summer weekends, outdoor activities, daily walks — can leave skin looking dull, uneven, and rough. Microneedling stimulates fresh collagen and elastin production, which helps improve skin tone and texture caused by that cumulative sun damage. It won't erase everything in one session, but a consistent series of treatments makes a real visible difference in sun-damaged skin.
How do I know if microneedling is right for me or if I need a different treatment?
The best way to know is through a skin assessment before you book a session. Some clients come in thinking they need a HydraFacial or microdermabrasion, and after an assessment, microneedling turns out to be the better fit — and sometimes it goes the other way. Age matters less than skin type and your specific concern. Our esthetician won't recommend a service that isn't right for your skin. You'll leave knowing exactly what makes sense for you.
What is the downtime like after a microneedling session in Prosper?
Downtime is minimal, which is one reason microneedling is so popular with busy Prosper clients. Most people experience some redness and mild sensitivity for 24-48 hours after a session — similar to a light sunburn. You'll want to avoid direct sun, heavy exercise, and active skincare products for a couple of days. Most clients feel comfortable returning to their normal routine within a day or two.
